Enter your wedding date and the plan counts back to every milestone with a real date: when to settle the budget, book the venue, hold the ăn hỏi, send the invitations. Tick what is done, see what is left, filter by the groom’s or the bride’s family.

The milestones are common suggestions; every family has its own customs. Your date and ticks are kept in this browser only and sent nowhere.

Small tips

So the plan does not stay on paper

  • Book first, choose the details later

Venues, photographers and make-up artists fill up very early in wedding season. Put a deposit down to hold the date; the menu or the flower colours can wait.

  • One person per job

Filter by the groom’s or the bride’s family and send the printout to both sets of parents. Everyone knows their part, and nobody has to keep reminding anyone.

  • Don’t leave the paperwork to the last minute

Registering the marriage needs both your ID cards. If you are not registering where you live, ask the People’s Committee (UBND) beforehand what else they need, so you only make the trip once.

Are the tasks I tick saved?

Yes, in this browser. Open the page again on the same device and your wedding date and ticks are still there. On another device, or after clearing site data, you would have to tick them again, so press Print / save as PDF to keep a copy.

What if the wedding is only a few months away?

Just enter the date. Milestones already behind you are marked as passed, with the number of tasks left, so you can catch up. Do the bookings first: the venue, the photographers, the make-up.

Is the order of ceremonies the same everywhere?

Not quite. Some places hold the ăn hỏi close to the wedding, some combine the dạm ngõ with the ăn hỏi, and in the south it is usually called the lễ đính hôn. This list is a suggestion; ask the elders in both families to arrange it to suit both sides’ customs.

How do I print the plan?

Press “Print / save as PDF”. The printed page keeps only the plan, without the site’s header and footer. To save a file instead, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer.
