Small tips

Keep the guest book tidy from start to finish

  1. One list per side

Ask both sets of parents to jot their guests on paper or in a message, then paste the whole list into the book in one go. Less retyping, fewer names missed.

  2. Count heads carefully

Ask, tactfully, whether a guest is bringing a spouse or small children. The total number of people is what you settle the table count on with the venue.

  3. Print it in the final week

The printout shows clearly who was invited and who replied. Hand it to whoever greets guests at the door or seats them on the day.

Questions

Common questions

Can’t find what you need? Message us; a real person reads and replies.

Does the book need an internet connection or an account?

No account needed. The list is kept in this device’s browser and is never sent to any server. Once the page is open, you can keep writing even if the connection drops.

How do I move it to another device?

Export a CSV and open it on the other device. To bring it back into the book, copy the name, group and people columns from that file and paste them into “Paste a list”. If the whole family should see one shared list, use the Guests section of an online invitation.

How is the table estimate worked out?

The total number of people divided by the seats per table you pick (8, 10 or 12), rounded up. It is only an estimate to take to the venue; leave a few seats spare.

Does the printout follow the filters?

The printout holds only the guests currently shown (by the filters and the search box), with the print date and the total number of people. To print everyone, choose “All” and “Every status” and clear the search first.

Can I paste from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copy the name, group and people columns, in that order, and paste them straight into “Paste a list”. Columns may be separated by tabs (what a spreadsheet copies), a | or a semicolon.

What if I delete someone by mistake?

Every time a guest is removed a notice appears with an Undo button. “Clear all” has to be pressed twice before it clears. To be safe, export a CSV now and then.
