Small tips
An invitation that makes guests want to come
Send it personally, by name
A message with each guest’s own name is far warmer than one sent to a whole group. Change the name and you have a new invitation in seconds.
Call the elders first
Grandparents, aunts and uncles value a call or a visit. Send the message afterwards so they can check the time and the address again.
Add the invitation link with its map
One tap shows the guest the ceremony time and the way to the venue, and lets them say whether they are coming — no need to message back and ask.
Questions
Quick answers
How is the invitation written?
From sentences we wrote in advance for each tone, filled with the guest’s name, the form of address, the date, time and venue you enter. Everything happens on this page and nothing is sent anywhere. Press “Try another wording” for the next version, or edit the text by hand in the preview.
Why don’t Zalo and Messenger fill the invitation in for me?
Neither app lets a website pre-fill text through a link. So when you press the button the invitation is copied: open the chat with your guest and paste it in. The SMS button is different — on a phone it opens your messaging app with the text already filled in.
How far ahead should I send it?
About three to four weeks before the wedding is right: guests have time to plan, but it is not so far off that they forget. Close to the day, send a short reminder with the arrival time and directions.
Is inviting by message considered impolite?
For friends and colleagues, a message with an online invitation is now very common. For grandparents, aunts, uncles and older guests, call or visit them to invite them in person, then send the message so they can check the time and place.
